ABSTRACT |
Simulation is crucial for aerial robotics, but choosing the right tool is quite challenging. Those needing high fidelity often can't get the speed required for reinforcement learning, while massive swarm simulations usually sacrifice physics realism. With 55+ simulators out there, I've been looking into this fragmented landscape. In this talk, I'll share what I've learned about the key concepts, promising tools, and trade-offs we face when picking simulators. |
| ABOUT THE SPEAKER |
| Kimberly McGuire is an independent roboticist and co-lead of the Aerial Robotics ROS interest group. She is a former robotics engineer and embedded software developer at Bitcraze and has done her PhD in Swarm Robotics at the Delft University of Technology/TU Delft. Kimberly is currently working on projects for simulation for robotics and is an independent contractor for various robotic companies. (https://www.mcguirerobotics.com/) |
